Why do I want to buy another tank?

I have a 30 gal, a 4 gal, and a 3 gal.

I am now looking at getting a 10 gal.

Why? I don't need more tanks.

This is becoming an obsession.

Sorry, just had to rant/vent. Thinking of starting a 10 gal tetra tank.

Yeah, I started with a 12 gallon at home last year in Feb. Then this past January I added a 3 gallon at work. Then a couple of months ago I replaced the 12 gallon with a 17 gallon 60cm tank, and sold the 12 gallon. So I only have 2, but I keep trying to figure out where to put another one at home and how big it should be. I totally don't need one. The high tech one I have at home is already plenty of work.

But yeah... I keep looking.

It's MTS, and it's incurable.

The question is not 'why?' It is 'when?'

MTS is a horrible debilitating disease and we are all enablers for each other lol

That's the truth right there. This place is not where you go for help if your goal is rehabilitation.

I started with my Evolve 4 at work. I knew eventually I would be setting up my 30 gal at home.

I think what I am liking now is having different plants and scapes. Each tank has some different plants and share some of the same plants.

Thinking of trying my first tank with a carpet.

a great deal of my cube at work is taken up by bowls, a 3 gallon tank and plants now I get a lot of interested and curious visitors, but so far no "official" management attention! That would be sad.

One more reason I've concentrated on pico/nano-low-tech (or no tech) planted tanks; though I'll admit I was a little beyond silly when I hit 40+ in my 2b apartment. Since then I've consolidated significantly; I'm down to a meager nine.

37g community
20g riparium
10g outdoor tank (dumping ground for culls: endler/snail/shrimps)
3g cherry shrimp
3g planted vase (scuds, snails and puppy dog tails)
2.5g female endlers
2.5g snail tank
2.3g cherry shrimp (wild type)
1.25g planted (rams, endler, shrimp)

Of course, since I still *own* all those other tanks and quite a bit of spare equipment, the condition could flare up again at any moment.
I'm being *very* careful to not remember the empty 125g waiting for me in a friend's garage...

You are all wrong. MTS is NOT a disease. It is in fact a very healthy attitude. I mean how could you keep such a variety of fish and plants in only one or two tanks? You really can't have a south american biotope in an african tank now can you?
Even after aquiring my 50th tank (drilled 90 with sump for $0.00) I still scour craigslist and the online flea place.

Dilution is the solution for the pollution.
Quote me as saying I was misquoted.

My wife was actually the enabler with my latest tank. Had a Ramshorn that decimated my DHG, so I put it in a nice little vase with some hornwort. Wife said, "he needs a better home, isn't Petco having some kind of sale on tanks?" Why yes, yes they are. Why not pick up 2.

A So. Cal. living in Cleveland.... for now.

lol... because your tanks are to small and the beauty achieved makes u want more. i have over 400 gallons in my living room. My wife asked me to set up a tank in the kitchen and another in the living room. that last one is my smallest. Look into an Aqua Japan, nice little tank. Sump is behind a black piece of plastic, hiding all gear.

6 tanks and counting! The only reason I don't have more up right now is because my girlfriend put the kibash on my MTS temporarily until we move at the end of this month... Then im goin nuts and setting up loads of new tanks that have had to sit empty for the last few months! wahaha! >:0
