To flood or not to flood?

So I'm going to be away for a week in a couple of weeks and I am also about to dry start a tank (maybe this weekend). I am doing a dry start to allow for some mosses to attach and maybe some foreground plants to grow in (havent decided on which plant yet).

I am wondering before I go on vacation in a couple of weeks, do I flood the tank? Or leave the tank in DSM while im on vacation? I do not have any one that can watch the tank while I'm gone.

I'm worried about the plants drying out if I leave it in DSM, but if I flood all the moss may not be attached by then and I wouldnt be there for the transition period to dial everything in.

Any one have any experience with this? or any suggestions?

I read somewhere about piping in a humidifier into the tank on a timer, any one try this? and know if it will keep the plants moist enough esp. the mosses?
