Doing the dry start method on my mr. aqua cube has got me interested in growing immersed plants, so this weekend I read all I could about wabi kusa (not much info out there), and gave it a try. I took the remaining aquasoil I had form my other tank, and put it in a sheer hose stocking with some lava rocks, tied it off, and wrapped it with spagnum moss with thread. Then I tied a bunch of mini pellia, and mini fissidens. After that I planted it by poking holes, and inserting staurogyne repens, glosso, pogostemon helferi, lilaeopsis, peacock fern, and the red one that I cant remember the name of (little help here please).
I have no idea if it will work, but I think it looks pretty cool.
I think I'll keep it covered for a while as most of these plants were grown submerged. Does anyone know if this is necessary?
Alteranthera Reineckii, That is the red one.
