96W Coralife 20" w/ 27gal or 41.5gal?

I'm setting up a planted cube tank (from glasscages.com) and am planning on lighting with a coralife 20" 96W lamp. My question is whether this will be enough to light a 20X20X24 (41.5 gal) tank (2.31W/gal) or whether I would be wiser to stick with a 20X20X16 (27.7 gal) tank (3.46W/gal)? I've looked around a good bit and found general answers (eg 2.5-3 W/gal), but am wondering about the specifics of this case, especially since the tank has the same footprint but is 8" taller. I'd lean toward the 41gal, but am not sure if that will be enough light. Might see if they will do a 20X20X20 custom. Thanks for any input, appreciate the help.
