Well, for the price you could get it and try it out for fun, but my thoughts are that a $5.87 device is going to give you $5.87 results, in other words lousy.
If you need to test pH to high accuracy get yourself a real pH meter and calibrate it. More expensive, but you know your getting good results. Same thing applies to a light meter.
