Got Green Water? NOT anymore!

Got Green Water? NOT anymore!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey everyone, I just had to tell everybody about this amazing and CHEAP product that has completely cleared my green water in 3 days and left the tank clearer than ever before...and I am talking crystal clear! And no, I am no way affiliated to the company or distributors, just shocked by its efficiency!

I experienced nasty green water (algae bloom) two weekends ago following a new dosing regiment with phosphorus (yeah, that won't be added ever again!). I tried the blackout, blanket trick, with slow, little luck...and decided to order an in-tank 9w UV sterilizer w/powerhead from petsmart for under $30!!! Trust me, I was doubting it too!

Sterilizer arrived friday, set it up in minutes, placed in the water, and I have sparkling clean water by sunday night!

This is a great product for anyone running HOB filters w/o any powerheads or anyone looking to save some money! For 29.99, I'd say it is money well spent! I plan on running it another day or two...then only running once every 2 months or so and with new tank additions (parasite protection).

Cheers

I also use it for the first 24 hours after every 2-week water change
and my tank water seems a lot clearer the day after I stop using the UV.
too early to tell if it impacts any potential new algae growth.

Unfortunately the conditions that caused the green water is still there, you're just masking it with a UV sterilizer.

I've used the sterilizer, and the green water never came back. All be it, this might be from a maturation of plants during the sterilizing period.
