Bubble Counter Problem / Recommendation

I'm currently using the red seas bubble counter with check valve.

After changing out my DIY CO2 mix last night I noticed there were no bubbles this morning. Upon inspection I took the cap off the 2 Liter bottle and found water creeping out of the bubble counter towards the cap of the 2L bottle with the Tubing in it.

Does this mean the integrated check valve is shot and I need a new bubble counter after only a couple months use?

I had to leave for work, So I don't think ay CO2 is going into the tank today... I dosed Excel.... I tried blowing into the line and I could barley even physicaly blow bubbles into the tank. It took alot of pressure to get air into the reactor 500... I think something is wrong possibly with the check valve sticking or something?

I need to buy a bubble counter for my new 24G Pod Tank but I'm not sure I want to try a red seas again unless there is an easy way to fix this one...

edit: Thought I posted this in the equipmet forum...

Is this a good one or will it be harder to count the bubbles? I see it does not include a check valve...No idea where to get one that will handle CO2 specificaly either. I have some that came from foster and smith and I have one that came with my red seas 500 but I don't know if they are any good...
