Hydor Koralia 425 nano
Is two of these too much flow for a 46 bowfront?

Depends upon your hardscape and how heavily planted you've got the tank.
Have any recent shots of the tank?

I would say no but im not sure the dimensions. I have the smaller nano in my 29 g planted tank and I wish I got the bigger one. That being said I have it pointed into a thick pack of stems so your mileage may vary but none of my fish are bothered by the flow.

I don't think it would be too much - especially if the tank grows in a bit more.
I've used two 240s (I think that's the size?) on a 20L before and never had an issue with having too much flow.

$26.29 on Amazon, free 2-day with Prime. I just ordered a second 425 for my 37 tall. One wasn't cutting it, even in my tall...

So, small fish or shrimp don't get sucked up into the housing and chopped up?

Hard call; I don't have anything small enough to get sucked through the side intake grates, could be an issue for small shrimp. The front outflow is open, however. If it's on 24/7 it won't be an issue, but if you have it on a timer it would be possible for fish/shrimp to get in, they'd probably get injured or killed if inside when it turned on.
