Canister Filter for 20gal?

Any suggestions on what I should be looking for here? The tank will be heavily planted.

Fluval, Eheim, Filstar?

Eheim Ecco - 2232. Great filter with all the media. A few bucks more than a Rena Filstar XP1, but its an Eheim.

I think the XP1 would be great. I have a Fluval 204 in my 20, and since it's heavily planted, there's not quite enough flow.

Filstar pimp #59 (shhhh on the Eheim)

I have two twenties that I would like filters for but the filters seem kind of steep. Petsmart has xp1's for 61.99 with free ship. i was hoping to find a coupon but haven't.

I have had the Eheim 2026 on my 20 gal planted tank for several years and like it very much. I have had some rubber deterioration from my Co2 injection but other than that it has worked out great. Very easy to use and with a few adjustments (to get the tubes to fit in the the tank) it worked very well.

I use one of the older Eheim Pro canister filters (#2222). I'm not sure if its made anymore, but it might be since I just bought it off Bigals in early 2005.

An Ehiem 2213 is perfect for a heavy planted 20, excellent filter, will serve well for years and has a nice resale value.

I agree. I've used a 2213 first on my 37 with great results and then switched it to my ten gallon shrimp tank when I bought a 2217. I just turn the flow way down in the ten.

Eheims are a wonderful filter. Very adaptable, easy to use, and every single part is easily replaceable.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....

I've used Fluvals and Filstars with medocre results, however, I agree with mrbelvedere and Wolfen, the 2213 is an awesome filter. I ordered mine from Drs F&S complete with all the media I wanted!
