hair algae and excel....thoughs/suggestions

well i had a hair/thread algae problem so i decided to remove it manually..
i used to dose excel every other day then i stopped, thats when i noticed the
bloom of hair algae. so i did my WC yesterday after 1hr+ of hair pulling, lol, and decided to dose excel again. woke up this morning and i would say 90-95% of the hair algae that is left turned white, good thing right?. so do i continue to dose daily or go back to the way it was and dose every other day? i have a 20gal long,, initial dose after wc was 5ml, daily or every other day dose will be 2ml.
whats your thoughts?

Hi flukekiller,

Yes, Excel / glutaraldehyde is an effective treatment for most string / hair-type algae types with the possible exception of cladophora. I dose Excel / glut daily both for both the carbon supplement and the algacide effect.

Every other day is what I would suggest, with h2o2 dosing on the off days. Then stopping the h2o2 once the algae is gone.
