Can a python be used for salt and fresh water?

So in a rush to to a w/c on a salt water tank I used the wrong python.
Can it be cleaned or should I just go back to the bucket system intill a new one is pick up.
Thanks for any help.

I'd run water through it while the siphon part is pouring into the sink to flush out the salt.
