Joe, 2 threads on basically the same issue?
I also have a 205 in a 29gal heavily planted tank.
while I wish it had more WPG so I could add an
inline UV and heaver, my 205 provides enough
return water to circulate my tank. I don't know
what you mean by dead places. plant debris will
accumulate, not much you can do about that
accept to net it out every few days.
I prefer return pointing along and tilted down
the short side glass of my aquarium. it provides
a steady flow of water in a clockwise swirl
around my tank without uprooting anything.
I also set my return low in the water so it
does not disturb the surface tension much.
I suggest changing the IN
let cone to a strainer;
I find using this not only protect small fish and
shrimp from getting sucked into the filter but it
also keeps the canister filter sponge pads from
getting clogged up so quickly as to restrict
water outlet pressure.
if you still think the
outlet is not helping enough, then simply get
a spraybar, mount it vertically in a corner of
your tank so it circulates water at all depths,
but personally I think that's unnecessary.
