Red sea flora dose- any good?

Saw this product on Big Al's. Only $15 for 48 tabs. Has anyone used these? Does it make sense to add minerals to the substrate like this?
This link gives more description than Big Al's site.

i suggest you read more about fertilizing, or ask better questions,
adding fert tabs into play sand can be a good idea, however;
adding an unknown ingredient fertilizer to any >3wpg tank
with no Co2 is liable to create an algae farm very quickly.

Well.. I have one tank with soilmaster select and less than 2wpg, another tank with kitty litter mixed with osmocote under playsand with 2.1wpg. a 10 gallon with two compact flourescent screw in type bulbs (incandescent hood) and KL/sand. No highlighting or co2 in any of my tanks.
I was curious about this specific brand; are they beneficial at all to plants, like flourish tabs, or basically useless like the fizzing plant tabs?
Is this better?
