where to buy plants in Los Angeles?

I need to find a good place in Los Angeles (hopefully in the Burbank area) to buy some plants. There are a few local places I've seen with dead/dying plants . I'd prefer not having to go online, but I may need to.

I haven't found one yet...

Check out SCAPE. Southern California Aquatic Plant Enthusiasts. We're having a "local" meeting on Dec 2 and there should be plenty of plants to swap/buy/sell. We have group buys and whatnot too, as incentives for joining.

PM me if you'd like more information.

You might want to move this to the california section of the forum.

I need stuff FAST!!! I've been telling the people in the office "Just a few more days" and they're starting to suspect that I'm just keeping a tank of water on my desk. Unfortunately, with planted tank equipment scarce in this area, I've had to mail order most of my stuff, so the tank has kind of been put together piece by piece. I have everything I need other than alkalinity buffer, which has been overnighted and should be here tomorrow. Then I'm all set to go.

A friend of mine turned me on to a local place with a decent selection of plants--there were four or five tanks dedicated to plants. The place is called Mark's Fish & Pet (I don't know why, he only has fish) and is on 12063 Ventura Place in Studio City. I don't know what the service is like yet, but they seem to have healthy stock. It's one of the few local places I've seen that has coral in their saltwater tanks that isn't dead or dying, which seems to be a big plus.

What about Neptunes Reef, isn't that near LA? Their selection is huge.

Robert,
One thing people forget is "Los Angeles" is more than just the city. The entire county is what people identify as LA. And then don't get me started on the people that consider Orange County or San Bernardino and Riverside counties as part of LA.

From where I lived in high school it was 20-30 minutes just to get to the freeway. From there, it could be an hour or more to Burbank. I was only 20 minutes away from Neptunes Reef without getting on the freeway.

It's one of the drawbacks to SoCal.
