Fastest way to grow X-Mas moss is emersed, yet still very wet.

Thread here about how Loh Kwek Leong grows his:
http://www.killies.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=366

I'll be switching my 2.5G q/grow tank over to grow emersed x-mas moss now that I put the Anubias Nana into my 20g, well, after I clean out the X-Mas moss... must have got "bottom-of-the-barrel" stuff I was thinking of putting the moss on some "plastic canvas" grid stuff, then "floating" it on the surface of the water. That airstone setup you have in your pic, Nordic, might work perfectly to keep it moist.

There is CO2, in the air. Nutrients can be added to water. If he has it so the bubbles force water up to just wet the moss, it will be fertilized by any nutrients added to the water.

Maybe there are only 1% of CO2 and 5% of fertilizer it can get  hehe.

I still prefer a small nano tank with 3.5-4 wpg light with a small eheim filter to inject co2. Fertilizers vary. I use this way to grow my riccia/moss before i sell to LFS.Takes only 4-6 days. The fastest way.....STEAL

I the supply of CO2 from the air is a lot more than you could hope to give via water....

Ok. Did a bit of work on my 2.5G tank, and used Nordic's idea picture for a basis

"Plastic canvas" supported by nylon spacers. 2 bubble wands underneath. The plastic grid is a bit wavy, and I'll have to work on getting it all even, but so far, it's looking good. 13w AHSupply kit w/ reflector sits above tank.

Few more pics here:
http://www.daemonfly.com/images/moss...ubblewands.jpg
http://www.daemonfly.com/images/mosstank/mossfull.jpg
http://www.daemonfly.com/images/mosstank/mossside.jpg

Weights are there as the bubbles sometimes build up & lifts the "tray" just slightly, but right now, I'm thinking thats not really a bad thing. I'll let you guys know how it does.

Vinlo - No, the moss shouldn't melt.
