What could I use to keep a makeshift cave sunk?

I am making my 5g a freshwater shrimp only tank soon (well shrimp and some free-ride snails I got with my plants from my LFS) and I decided to make my own moss cave for them once I get them in.

I am using this http://www.amazon.com/THERMWELL-PRODUCTS-VX620-Plastic-Guard/dp/B000LNNS3W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1373606543&sr=8-2&keywords=plastic+mesh.

I cut a small portion off to make a half circle and just stuck some java moss on the top and tied fishing line around it to keep the moss on. It was time consuming, but I enjoyed making it and liked the outcome! However, the thing does not want to sink.

If anyone knows of something I could get to make my cave sink (that's aquarium friendly of course) I'd appreciate the insight! I can post a picture if anyone is curious of what it looks like, thanks!

the gel version of superglue is aquarium safe. what kind of substrate are you using? maybe glue some rocks to it.

I'm using a flourite base topped with regular gravel. I might look for some rocks while I am at the lake tomorrow

Depending on how you have the moss growing on it you might be able to bury the bottom under the substrate a lil. If not Id use rocks, either gluing them in place or just placing them inside the cave.

Very neat idea BTW. Im sure your shrimpies will love you for it!
