Aquascaping

any suggestions on what i should do for my first ever planted aquarium? as far as aquascaping goes? I think im set on equipment.

For you 1st planted aquarium learn to grow algea free plants. once you get the growth down then move on to the aquascaping part. A good layout can start to look like crap if the plants are not happy.

I spent around 4.5-5 years just growing the plants before even thinking of scaping my tanks.( um..... a little to long, but....)

The best way to go (IMHO) is to get a few nice peices of Hardscape, rocks and/or driftwood, then just place them in the tank a little off center.
Smile , and grow the plants.

I will second that, just maybe get some easier plants, get some rocks/wood or both and put some moss in it, will look great. growing plants is most important. scaping is the "easy" part heh that just takes planning!

Heck and I thought I was bad at just under a year since I am a farmer of plants not a scaper, LOL! But nice plants look great any day!
