alright this is what i got...

I got a 37 gallon, it was my brothers old tank so i got it for free. I started by using my old Emporer 280, and a fluval 205. I'm using 2 Hagens DIY CO2, because I don't want to deal with a pressurized system just yet. I'm using Aquasoil, and my media goes as follows, (from top to bottom);filter floss, peat granules, biomax, and a polishing pads. does this sound ok? so far.

Sounds ok to me. What are you going to plant in the tank? How much light do you have? What fish?

I usually just stuff my filters with polyester floss. It all works the same, and mechanical filtration is my big deal. You don't need peat, especially with Aquasoil. Biomax is unnecessary. You get all you need with filter floss and plants.

You'll get more Co2 out of 1 gallon gatorade bottles than those little Hagen canisters will ever produce. Save the ladders, however.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....
