is this enough/too much light?

My LFS has, for two weeks in a row, not received the tank that I've been wanting for my desktop setup. So I've decided to order it on the net.

I'm planning on getting one of those Aquapod 24g setups. While I was looking on the net, I noticed that there were a few options for lighting. One is 2 32W PCs, one is a 70W MH and one is a 150W MH.

What I'm wondering is if using the PCs will end up leading to me not being able to keep certain plants down the road. It barely makes 2.5 WPG. The same goes for the 70MH setup. However, the next step up is the 150W MH. Obviously, this would be enough light, but would it be too much?

The other option is to go with something besides the Aquapod.

Any feedback?

I have an aquapod 12, the first thing to consider is that this will come with 50/50 bulbs. The Actinic bulbs do buttkis for plants, so u will have swap them out for 6,700/10,000 bulbs.

I think you will have more than enough light if you go with the dual 32W and change the actinic bulbs out for daylight (6,700/10,000)

You have to figure, the aquapod is really setup for saltwater coral reef, and freshwater plants dont need as much light intensity.

I would use the 32 watt bulbs too, switching them to 6700 or 10,000K bulbs. When I had about 3.8 watts per gallon on my 29 gallon tank I never did get control of the algae situation. Now I have 2.4 watts per gallon and the plants grow just about as fast and colorful, and....I still don't have control of the algae situaton.
