Malaysian trumpet snails questions

Hi guys, I want MTS, but I was wondering if they will uproot plants like HC and elantine triandra? I use Schultz as a substrate. Will they eat the bits of dead plant material that clutters "nether regions"? I'm really worried about them uprooting plants in general.

I use eco-complete so I'm not sure how to compare it to Shulzes's but here goes. The MTS in my tanks will uproot my HC in the first week or so that it is planted. Once it gets a good foothold with the root structure they can't uproot it. Anytime my HC gets too thick I sell some off and replant with small chunks spread out around the tank. That first week after replanting is a pain in the butt. Every day I come home from work I'm usually replanting a chunk or two the MTS let loose.

Yeah, they're good for turning the substrate, but uprooting plants is a problem before they get established. I don't have any in my tank, for that very reason. I just have some pond snail-looking type.

Get your plants established first, then introduce the MTS. You shouldn't have any problems then with them uprooting anything.
