Still new to the planting thing and I only know a few land plant terms so give me a leaway on tryign to explain this, k?

I bought some new swords several weeks ago and they are doing well. They are doing so well, in fact, that I have some "babies" sprouting and rooting on a shoot from the middle of the plant. The "babies" are doing well and have good roots on them. How do I take care of them? When should they be set free from the mother plant (and HOW do I do it?) and should I plant them in my tank (I'd like to.) or give them away? Thanks for your help.....I hope I don't sound like a total idiot here.

I have heard on some of the large swords you can split to rhizome and then plant the seperate peices....hopefully that might help some...sorry if it doesnt

If you have an amazon sword with a shoot (like you said) then I would reccomend keeping the plants on the shoot until they are about 1/2 the size at least of the mother plant. You can plant them in your tank and enjoy them! What I would do is cut the plants off (once they are the right size) and get as little of the shoot as possible. Hope this helps!

Tank in transition! 55 gallons, hard water.
