What happens if bubble counter runs dry?

If you were to go out of town for a period of time and something like your bubble counter on your regulator ran dry, is there any consequence is this. Im pretty sure its only an indicator for the amount of C02 being released, but I just wanted to make sure

Is Hokey Pokey Really What It's all about ?

You are right, nothing would happen. If you had DIY the fluid in the bubble counter acts to clean the CO2 gas of yeast and other possible contaminants.

I don't think it's a problem but if you don't want to worry about it then use glycerin in there instead of water. It won't evaporate.
I think you can get it from any drug store.

I was wondering about the same thing as Lojack. Glycerine would be ok to use? It wont cause any adverse effect. Thanks.
