Question Emersed plants transition to aquarium

I have some aquarium plants that have been growing outdoors and i was wondering can i just trim the plant outside with no roots and plant directly into the aquarium or do the emersed plants need roots attached to the trimming before they can be planted in the aquarium submerged?

I'd imagine that would depend on the plant. Most of your stem plants it's okay to top off and plant without roots. What kind of plants are we talking about here?

Yeah I cut the tops off and replant them so it should be fine to trim them up. Did yours grow big and bushy outside? Mine got HUGE in an emersed set up.

Mine was over 2 foot tall, but it was also leaning up against a wall. All that came from one little 6 inch stem laid on it's side.
