Im having problems with my fish eating every single alage eating fish i bring home,my plants are starting to get alage on them so i wanted something to take it off,ive had 6 octos and they all got eaten, four SAE's medium size,i was going to try big flower shrimp,probly about 3-4 inches long,inch thick, but i dont know,i really need help...and i dont want some ugly looking pleco...not to be mean,but it would contrast my tank horably...haha

You haven't said what kind of "canibals" (he he) you are housing in that tank of yours.

Eheim pimp #128, 55gal 13x20x48, Eheim Pro 2227, CO2 injected, into the filter breather tube,4x 55w Pcs , 12 hr light cycle (sunrise/sunset simulated), Milwaukee SMS 122, faulty bubble counter replaced with M3 bubble counter..... moderately Planted, Plantex CSM+B and ferts

well i have native fish,like a bluegill crappie a large mouth bass sturgeon walleye perch...but there all 3-4 inched long,very small...i have like 7 fish total in my tank...

That large mouth probably makin mince-meat of those SAE's......hell i know the bluegill/speck/and bass would eat em all for sure...not sure bout the strug and walleye

10 gallon low-tech Betta bowl...for now.

I don't think you have a choice. Even large pond snails would eventually become a meal for those fish. And they would feast on your plants after they got done with the algae.

You're going to have to go with a robust Pleco. There are some gorgeous plecos out there. My Sailfin Pleco is almost breathtaking when he glides above a grassy field of E Tennulus. He's getting too big for my tank so I'd love to donate him to your tank if only you lived nearby!

Being a long time fisherman, I believe your fish are all thanking you for the new variety of "minnows" you have been providing them. All of those fish you have are carnivorous by nature. :hehe:

haah thanx gulfcoast,and yea im sure they love the differnt varieties to eat haha :sad: i was thinking about like river suckers or some kind of chub,but im not sure, i think it might work,i herd bristlenoses are good alage eaters too...maby ill get one of those:hehe:
