Same here. Riccia looks a lot finer, and I've never seen it clump like how it is on the bottom in the picture.

Look at Riccia and Java Moss images on the web. You should be easily able to identify yourself which moss you have there.

Mario, I don't have this plant, and I wouldn't have asked if I was certain it was either riccia or java moss.

Thanks, everyone, for the input. I'm going to pass on this item (unless hubbahubba can convince me otherwise). :-)

what do you mean you are going to pass on this item....

you know what it looks like both riccia and java moss intertwined.... that happens you know...heck i've got some and the riccia lifts up the java moss....something of a symbiotic relationship heheh cuz then the java moss can float too where there is more light.....and thus grow faster...

Oh, sorry, thought I mentioned that - it's from an auction on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2365265674

~$15 seems like a lot for moss/riccia mixed together...

Yeah, there's only one auction on aquabid now - 50"sq - that's already over $20. I will keep looking there, though.

Thanks all.
