Flagfish and Surface film

I have noticed since I acquired flagfish that I no longer have the film that I always had before I got them. When I watch them lots of times they swim at the surface, skimming it like they are eating something off the surface of the water. I know it isn't lack of oxygen because none of the other fish go near the surface. Has anyone else noticed this with their flagfish? I am not complaining, I just like the added benefit and wondered if anyone else saw the same thing.

Thanks! :-)
