I've been growing pennywort in my tank for about four weeks.

Why do people think that it is that difficult of a plant to grow?

I haven't had any problems yet. It's been growing like mad in my 29g that only has 35Watts (1.21 Wpg aquaglo)

below's a picture of it.

Just curious if I'm doing something right with this plant.

I didn't think it was that's why I asked. I just searched through the plants on the plant link on the "planted tank homepage" and it lists this plant as a hard for level of difficulty.

Go check it out yourself. Maybe it's a different type of pennywort but it looks exactly like what I have.

Yeah, that's the same plant right?

It must be some mistake.

I see so much varying information about growing various plants that I don't know what to rely on sometimes.

I'd have to agree with you on that one. It can be tough at times to tell how valid something is (especially if you're like me and you're freshwater plant knowledge is relatively limited)

I've grown it in very low circumstances, just one T-8 light and it was doing fine...

I got a couple of spriggs of it from my brother in law 2 years ago where it was growing in his gold fish tank in the basement at 60
and under a 15watt tube in a 30 gal. tank, like a weed.
I regularly throw out gobs of it because it will grow over the surface of the entire tank if I let it.
I really like it though, as a nutrient hog. If I have any problems with algae I throw a bunch in and it's saved my butt on numerous occasions. I also like the light green color and the fact that it can be grown as a floater or in the substrate.
Gotta be classified, in my experience, as an easy plant.

Len

Len

I've been able to grow it in just about any conditions I've thrown it in.
