Loosing Soft water with an Acid Nuetralizer
Well, our house's copper pipe has sprung a few leaks near the hot water heater. With a pH out of the tap of 5.2 and 120 degree F water, it will degrade the pipe over time and has on our 10 year old house. So, hopefully its not too late as I would rather not have to spend thousands having the whole house replumbed, and $1200 later, we are going to have a water conditioner (acid nuetralizer with "calcite") inserted into water line in the well house... to raise the pH.
Just wondering, what my KH might look like? The water guy said a "nuetral" pH is from 6.8 to 7.8 and so, well, there goes the Tonina I was hoping to grow someday... ( Eye brows raised!)
Anyone had any experience with one of these units? If so, what kind of KH are you getting? I could run a bypass, but would have to hose water from the well house to my prep tank (which I might not need anymore, come to think of it). But honestly, I don't want to have to do that.
