55 Gallon Stocking List

I am going to be tearing down my bland 55 gallon set-up and hopefully transforming it into a decent planted tank. My question is regarding stocking. Will this list work or do people forsee problems I'm not recognizing?

-1 Red-Tailed Black Shark
-6 Ornate Rainbows
-10 Ottos
-3 Silver Hachets
-7 corys
-2 Discus

I want to know if I will have the room to add a 12-18 sized school of either neons, cardinals, or some other small tetra. Any thoughts?

I would take out the discus if your going to have rainbows, the rainbows are to active and would scare the discus into hiding....If you have discus in your tank they need to be the "main attraction" in the tank.....but everything else sounds good

make sure you have some rocks or cave for the red-tail to be territorial over. otherwise, he might try to stake some community swimming area as his home and terrorize the other fish.

Bump it up to 6 hatchets, and provide a little bit of floating cover for them. This will keep them calmer.

red tails IMO get nasty sometimes. I would definitely do either rainbows or discus, but not both. If you eliminate one or the other, you can do your school of cardinals or neons.
