Apisto sp. algodon and A. viejita query.
I ordered a few female Apisto Triple Reds and since the seller was short he included four juvi Apistogramma sp. algodons of which two made it (so far). The reason I say "so far", is I decided to move them into my 65 gallon, but a day or two later my adult pair of Apisto viejitas are in full spawn. I've never seen and have barely heard of this fish (Apisto sp. algodon) before. So do you think I ought to:
1. Move them into the 90 gallon with the male adult (but really mellow) Apisto cacatoo and his three very young barely breedable females? The three cacatoo gals are ~ 50% larger than the Apisto sp. algodons?
2. Start another tank - I have a spare 15 gallon? BUT, I would rather not have four tanks going right now, but will if I have too. I also have a 26 bow I just started for some Cherry Shrimp and though perfect for the new Apistos, I need to give the shrimp some time to get going.
3 Leave them with the A. viejitas and just see how they fare... BUT, the old lady viejita is one scary B.
4.Or give/trade them to a local fish store? Don't really want to, but don't want them to die or have an eye pecked out either.
Right now I'm starting to lean toward moving them into the 90 gallon for a while... but would appreciate some opinions.
