RE: Hairy green worm!

I was looking thru my glosso carpet when I noticed a bunch of leaves wrapped together. I grabbed the tweezers to look at it more closely and all of a sudden a little green hairy worm pops out! I tried to take some pics but my camera sucks.....What the heck is this worm, I know freakin butterflies don't fly out of the aquarium from cacooning , Is this bad and will there be more and how in the world did this come about!

I think the scientific name is "Hairy Green Wormus". Seriously, I have no idea, I would think there would be numerous fish that would love to eat these.

I think that it might be a caddisfly larvae. They were really annoying for me because I had quite a few, and they kept chopping up my leaves. Luckily they won't reproduce in your aquarium, unless they become adults and lay eggs in it.

Caddisflies use rocks etc to create a shell. If you look closely and the actual body is green, with a small black head with 3 sets of legs just behind the head and it is carrying a "house" it is a caddisfly.

try this:

It doesn't matter if you aren't in ND. You should still be able to get it down to order at least. And that will put your mind to rest.
