Question colorblind-friendly water test kits?

Being colorblind makes it really difficult to judge the subtle colors on the test kits I've tried.

Are there any kits (maybe the high-end ones), that use an indicator that isn't color-based? (e.g., they might have some kind of indicator tool, where a stripe would line up with a graduated reading, like those stick-on tank thermometers or something).

Specifically I'm looking for NO3, PO4, pH, and gH. I can read my kH test kit! 1/5 ain't bad.

oops... looks like I've already started a thread on this topic a while back. It seems the LaMotte Nitrate test is worth trying. Any other suggestions?

Sweet, Rex! This is my dream come true.

I'm really scared to see how much it costs, though...

I know its nice to be able to do it at home, but...
You could take samples to the LFS and make them tell you the exact parameters instead of - "it looks good"
And, get this, it doesn't cost $775 either. In fact its freeeeeee

...except for when you live in the middle of nowhere, and the nearest LFS is an hour away.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Take a picture against some computer paper and post it here?

Provided you have a camera of course. We wouldn't mind reading it.

^^^^^^^

there's a good idea! ... I'll see if I can get a rig setup that would make it easy to take the pictures so that they come out well.

I could create a thread called "Read my test results."

try and find a low cost (old) spectrophotometer that are used in labs. they measure the amount of light that goes through a sample of a liquid - can also do color etc. im sure you could find one on ebay for not too much.
