Dwarf Gouramis and hydras

Will they eat these things? No wonder I haven't seen much of a Cherry Shrimp population increase in my 10 gallon ! I'm not overly worried about one eating baby shrimp since apparently that's already been taken care of , but if it's not going to take care of this hydra explosion I noticed yesterday evening there's no sense in obtaining one or more.

I would be willing to bet that the gourami is having as much fun eating baby shrimp as the hydras.....

No, you misunderstood. There is not a gourami in there at the moment. But since there don't seem to be any young shrimp anyway, I am considering putting one in there to help eradicate the hydra if they will, in fact, do so.
