Came back home after being gone for a week to find green water.

This new tank and has been running about a month now. On top of that it looks like I have some cyno growing as well.

What should be my 1st steps besides a water change?

I can swing by my office and pick up my new regulator and PH monitor but I still donít have a tank yet.

Thanks for the help.

All test results are the same as before I left.

PH=8.2
NO2=0
NH3=0
KH=6
GH=6
PO4=1

See my pics and thread. It this what you have??? I have had it three weeks now. Started my Filstar XP3 today. The dang turbotwist wont fit on the filter.
They say my filter has too much power.
After talking to Big Al's, they say I need a pump. So I am not going the UV route as it cost me $160.00 already.

Anyone out there can help us? I read water changes just helps the bloom!

maybe sell ur uv since u cant use it anyways and get this one:

http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...sterilizer&N=2

it doesnt need to be connected to a filter as it has its own powerhead
i had the 9w model on my 55g and it worked very well

Read. Even before a water change, type green+water into the search box and start skimming through the info.

I would say that the UV will be the best bet. I tried all the little tricks to get the GW to go away...and some worked for a short period of time...but the UV is what ultimately did it. As far as the CYNO...I would say to increase the water movement and up the nitrates...or frets in general...Also what aer you putting in there...Corals? the 8.2 PH is really high.
