If you are thinking of building a CO2 reactor the plain old white pipe works just as well. If that is not the case ignore the fat guy in the loud shirt.

I have always found clear to be a good thought for visability and poor in application. Any light leads to algae building up and reduces the effectiveness of the pipe. At least in the applications I have used it for.
