Little Brown Slits

Hey everyone,

I'm enjoying some decent growth in my tank but I've come to the point where I just want more.

It seems as though that there are two main problems:

1) small brown slit-like cuts form on the (older) leaves of many of my plants (Ech. Bleheri, Lud. Repens, Bacopa Car., Giant Hygro).

2) my Ech. Osiris and Crinim Calamistratum (slightly) have yellowing leaf edges.

The sag.,crypts. and val. are fine.

Params:

Ph=7.0; Kh=6; Gh=10; Co2=20ppm @3bps;P=1.0; N=15ppm; K=??; 2.8wpg

Dosing reg:

Mon- 50% WC; 1/2 tbs Mg2So4; 1/3 tsp K2So4; 1/4 tsp KH2Po4; 5ml Fe
Tues- 1tsp KNo3; 15ml TMG
Wed- 1/4 tsp KH2Po4; 5ml Fe
Thurs-1tsp KNo3; 1/3 K2So4; 15ml TMG
Fri- 1/4 tsp KH2Po4; 5ml Fe
Sat- 1 tsp KNo3; 15ml TMG
Sun- 1/3 tsp KS2o4

So, is it not enough Co2 (do I really have to go higher than 3bps), is light the limiting factor or are my ferts unbalanced???

Any suggestions are welcome

Cheers

Sometimes trimming away poor growth will spur new fresh growth too. A lot of energy is being wasted within the plants to compensate for any damaged areas, etc. Give that a try too.

Re-boot!

How do you dissolve the CO2? You may not have to turn it up at all if you find a more efficient reactor and you can get more of it dissolved in your water. A good reactor can make 100% difference in a planted tank.

Also consider your filtration and make sure there is no avoidable out-gasing due to water splashing at the surface.

I figured as much. I'm using an AM 1000 via a Quiteone 1200 pump...but I think there ain't enough flow (too much head) so I'm going to get an Eheim hobby pump, I hear they're indestructable.

thanks
