I (somewhat) recently purchased a few aquarium plants from Arizona Gardens (www.azgardens.com), and was happy with most of the plants (wisteria, red temple (for which i have a question about that too), micro sword, etc. I also bought some large java ferns which i was so happy about. While the leaves were indeed huge, the rhyzome was small, and there were only about 4 leaves total. The java fern in my friends aquarium (he left it to me when he joined the air force) is a much more beautiful specimen (ive thought about yanking it out of there on occassion) even though its leaves are only about 4 to 6 inches, but there's dozens and dozens. Its actually the bushiest java fern ive seen (and ive seen a lot of pictures).

So this brings me to my question, where are some places to buy plants that you've always been satisfied with?

I have a very good local fish store owner. I try to give him as much of my business that he wants. Some things he would rather not mess with. I find that when I add in shipping, I get the plants for the same price or better from him. I have been very satisfied with the suppliers he uses. I also like to see what I am buying. I have used the internet for purchases of some aquarium supplies and fish but like I said, I like to give him the business.

I got my first plants at a normal "pet store".
I got my next set of plants from a really good LFS.
Next set came from a local grower.
Then more from Aquabotanic
Then some from a grower on the other coast
Then from AZ gardens on a piggyback order
Then recently from Aquatic-store.

All my purchases have been great so far

See if you have a local aquarium club. I make $30 a month selling my clippings at SFAS and I buy good stuff from other people.

I always hit a couple of LFS's first.

Lately, both my experiences with AquariumGarden.com have been great.

Thanks, I'll take a look at the websites. I went to the Aquarium Center near Baltimore, MD and they had about 60 or 70 tanks of just plants. An amazing selection, but nothing that especially stood out.
