HI I'm new.I have a 46 gallon bow tank with plants. I am wondering if the co2 liquid works because I read that everyone has these co2 systems for their tanks. As I can see they are very costly, I am a student with a part time job so I really can't afford one of them co2 systems. Just out of curiosity can you tell me how much a full co2 system set up cost about? So back to my question about the co2 liquid does it work for my plants?

Flourish Excel works. It's not a CO2 liquid but another organic carbon source. But in the long run it's not very cheap either. Some of the other so called "liquid CO2" products are pretty much snake oil. The reason that we use CO2 injection is to supply CO2, control pH, and control algae.

A complete CO2 system can be had for under $150 if you are willing to do some legwork and piece things together.

I suggest purchasing a used tank locally but shipping for a 2.5lbs one from my site will run you somewhere around 12 bucks.
It really depends on what you want for the regulator.
You can get a real cheap one from some brewery supply houses for a basic unit but if you want one with a solenoid, check valve, bubble counter and needle valve all in one check out my site

I love the milwaukee ma957 ( currently backordered )and i think i have the lowest price on the net for many co2 items.

I checked it out all the regulator's solenoids check valves I don't know what I need. I'll settle for a used co2 system as long as it works. Have any for sale? I need everything that you need to get co2 working

The bare minimum that you need is a cylinder, regulator, needle valve, check valve, bubble counter and reactor.

Sorry i sold my last used unit and it was more expensive then my new ones as it was a hamilton brand. Not nearly as good with bubble flow rate as the malwaukee one inho.

Email me if yo need any suggestions. Also if you want bare bones less price go with the regulators from beer sellers. beveragefactory.com has some
