Pogostemon won't stay planted

I'm getting a bit annoyed by this. My pogostemon won't stay planted. Could be that fish are the cause. I continue to replant but, as you know pogostemon helferi doesn't take handling well.

Does anyone have any tips to keep 'm down long enough to develop some roots? Bottom of the tank is filter sand.

Don't know about this plant, but with other stem plants I keep a couple leaves in tact at the bottom of the stem and use them to 'anchor' the plant.
