Out of interest, what did you use the styrofoam for? I'm considering using some for a raised bank effect towards one of the rear corners.
I don't think I'll go full on Iwagumi but do appreciate the aesthetic value that some of it brings with it, I'll just be adding my own touches to it and not necessarily following it to a tee, I'm not even sure I'll be able to source all the materials/rocks I'll need to begin with.
Are you recommending that substrate as a complete replacement for the two I wanted to use? I'm still not 100% on substrate, there are far too many options which make my head hurt!
Do you need to wash that substrate before pouring it into the tank?
Another thing I'm pondering is a kind of under-substrate (sub-substrate
) tunnel system with housing for my Black Ghost Knifefish if I can somehow keep the water moving down there.
