Oriental Aquatics, Singapore

Here's a fascinating article on Aquarticles.com about the world's largest (I think) aquatic plants producer and exporter called Oriental Aquatics, with lots of pics of their operation. Nearly everthing is emersed grown by the looks of it.

So, want to see thousands of Anubias? Acres of Echinodorus? Click the link!

Thanks for sharing that link for the tour. My LFS orders from there and gets weekly shipments of plants from them. They really do have top notch plants.

Oriental Aquarium is the name. They are the largest plant farm and tissue culture lab in Asia with operations in at least 3 or 4 Asian countries. Their headquarters is in Singapore.

I've got plants from them a couple of times. You can order emersed or submerged specifically from their catalog so there shouldn't be any surprises.

On a side note, anyone getting plants from there should NOT put them in a tank with shrimps, no matter how well you rinse the plants. The shrimp will all die, fairly quickly - that bromide gas is some nasty stuff. Quarantine the plants ( as someone should do when importing anyway) , and keep out of shrimp tanks for at least a couple months.

Their catalog is like a candy store - God bless singapore dollars.
