Question about Fertilizers

So this whole fertilizer thing confuses me. I understand that there are macro and micro nutrients that my plants need. I was looking at Greg Watson’s Fertilizers and I was just going to get the PMDD Pre-Mix but after some research concluded that it would be better for me to dose separately. So instead, I am looking at getting 1lb of Mono Potassium Phosphate, 1lb of Potassium Sulfate, and 1lb of CSM+B Plantex. I have some nitrates in my tank so I am not buying that as of now.

So I guess my question is, do these cover all the nutrients? Am I missing anything? If so what? Thanks for you help.

That's about it. But unless your water source has nitrates I would suggest you buy a pound of KNO3. Sooner or later you will need it.

Thanks, I will add nitrates then. Should I also buy iron as well?

For iron you might want to consider one of the commercial liquid mixes. The amount of iron we need to add isn't very large, so a pound of chelated iron would really last a long time. But, it is very cheap, and the shipping cost would be minimal since it would be combined with the other ferts.
