Rescaping Ideas

Ok, so after many months of neglect I'm back at trying to make my tank look good (too bad it has never looked very good yet...). I just got a pressurized CO2 system, which has made a world of difference.

I found a peice of driftwood I like better than the two I currently have in my tank, but I've never actually done much "aquascaping" so I'd like some suggestions for what I could do with it. It is about 9" high, and 11" deep, and between 10-13" long, so it would be a pretty large peice in the tank, but I really like it and think it has potential. Keep in mind, I have no problem removing either of the two peices of driftwood in there.

I apologize about the poor quality of the pics, they were taken on an old 3mp camera. I appreciate any opinions given

id say leave the smaller piece right where it is but forward a little and replace the one on the left with the new piece positioned like the first pic. you might want to also slope the substrate back a little.

i guess the picture doesn't show it to well, the substrate is about 2 inches in front and 3.5 in back. that's a good suggestion, i've been haggling with myself over that position or the way it is positioned in the last picture. any suggestions on if and how to place the java fern on it?

i would say to put them on it. I like how they filled in the other piece of wood, but leave a little of the wood exposed.(ie the part that shoots out and a little exposure through out wouldn't hurt either) I am not sure how to actually attach the fern to the wood though. make sure you update the pics.
