replace plastic trim?

wondering if I can replace the plastic trim on my 75g with dark wood color factory setting...

or should I just paint. - not sure how good this will look

I would paint it. Replacing the trim on mass produced tanks is possible but it's a lot of frustrating work.

I painted the rim on my 36 corner bow front, going from ugly honey oak to something dark mahogany to match the stand. You might want to degloss the rim a bit to give the paint/stain something to grip onto. Or just add several layers of paint.

I also would not recommend to remove the rim. Lots of work, possibly dangerous (sharp edges, danger of cracking the glass), and there might be some structural characteristics that keep the tank from splitting seems.

can you get a pic of your paint job? Also did you strip before you painted
