3wpg calculated on a tank of how many gallons? The concept of low or high light depends on the volume of water. For example, a 3w bulb over a 1g nano isn't gonna cut it like 165w over a 55g will.

In high light it's gonna run along the bottom but will still grow over itself and develop a kind of bush that can be shaped. In low light it's gonna shoot up.

That should be enough for the creeping, trailing growth desirable in HM.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....

I have just started planting this for 2 - 3 weeks now and can see that initially it goes up and last week or so, it start going side ways.

It is covering the foreground nicely....mine is a 60 gallon (4 wpg - 240 watts with DIY CO2). If you can wait longer, then i can give you some (don't know how long - maybe 1 month ?)

Sorry, just realise that you are in England ?

I have worked with this plant extensively for many years. It is one of my favorites. My experience has been the opposite. If light did play a role, high light would make the plant grow UPRIGHT, but in my experience light makes little difference. If you plant the stems upright, it will grow upright. If you plant the stems laying down horizontal on the substrate, it will grow as a ground cover. Upright, you can shape it, prune it like a shrub.
