PLEASE HELP A couple fast questions PLEASE

I just received my Ferts order from Greg Watson, boy are they fast in shipping.
Correct me please if I am wrong!
I have a 29 gal with 2 watts of light with CO2.

KH2PO4 - mix 1 1/2 teaspoons with 250 mil water. Dose 1 mil to get .53ppm in 10 gal water. Target 1.0 - 2.0 ppm.

KNO3 - mix 3 treaspoons to 250 mil water. Dose 1 mil to get 1.08 to 10 gal of water. Target 10 - 20 ppm.

K2S04 - mix dry. 1/4 teaspoon to get 17.72 ppm in 10 gallon of water.
Whats my target?

CSM+B - Mix 3 teaspoons to 250 mil water. Dose 4 mil per 10 gal water 3 times a week.

Iron Chelate - Mix 3 teaspoons to 250 mil water. How much do I dose? . Target .1 -1.0 ppm.

Thank you in advance.
Joe

10 gallon hospital tank.
29 & 50 gallon - High Tech C02 enriched.

Why not just dose it dry?

Hi Rex,

I don't know why he doesn't dose it dry....but for some reason I prefer to dose it all wet...must be from the SeaChem regime. Also, I want to go back to Auto-dosing--so I needed to figure this stuff out for myself anyway.

I have 4 tanks to dose--total 134gal. So, I used 4000ml (~1gal) to determine my solutions, and set most of them to 1ml=1ppm/gal., or 0.1 in the case of Iron, etc.....

The Fertilator has different options in the drop-down menu at the top.....by selecting "Find percent solution in nutrient water" and filling in the blanks---Iron shows 1.52ml of Your 250ml solution to bring the 29gal up 0.1.

Check it out. Its pretty straight forward when You are dealing with one tank. Its setting up something to use with multiple tanks of various sizes that confusing....for me anyway. I'm still checking my math in my own head....lol

Also, My Understanding is--and it may be wrong-- that the amount of CSM+B that You dose is based upon the amount of Iron in it. So, You may not need to dose any extra Iron via the 10% chelate....
HTH

This does not answer anything for me. Dose Dry? ok? how much, how often. I'm not understanding this and I have read many post etc.

Follow Naja's link to the Fertilator. It's a great tool.

Seems to me that you could mix…
1 teaspoon of KNO3
.125 teaspoon of K2HPO4
.25 teaspoon of K2SO4
and .5 teaspoon of the CSM+B
into 500 ml and use it as two 250 ml doses.

It should give you…
14.5 ppm NO3
1.4 ppm PO4
13.5 ppm K
and .4 ppm Fe per dose.

Or pretty close to a 10:1:10 ratio of macros and hopefully a sufficient level of traces. I dose with Flourish so I'm not going to be much help on the CSM+B.

Only problem with mixing all that is that the iron will combine with the phosphates and give you iron phosphate which is pretty close to insoluble.

To figure out your dosing download Chuck Gadd's calculator. The link is here and in my Guide.

And most of the answers to your questions are in my Guide.

The target for potassium is ~20 ppm.

Thank you Rex. I have read and re read your guide. Some of it is sinking in. But I still have some issues that I am still trying to learn.
