Cleaning used equipment

What is best for cleaning (disinfecting and killing anything that might still be there and could potential infect my tank) used equipment? Should I use Clorox, Vinegar or what?

Thanks

Bleach works very well, provided that you rinse afterwards and use a good dechlorinator to neutralize and remaining free chlorine.

Re: Cleaning used equipment

Distilled white vinegar is also a great choice, works well for a disinfectant and for cleaning. For mixture use one cup of vinegar per gallon of water. Rinse well after, distilled white vinegar will not harm your fish from the research that I have done, but it can affect your pH depending on how much there is.
