How to make plants free of any Snails or Bad Stuff.

So i am getting ready to put some plants into my tank and i also know that i will be adding plants to another tank in the near future so i wanted to know what you can do to them to kill all the snails and other things before you put them into the aquarium.

It has to be reasonable.

Many suggest a potassium permanganate or bleach dip. Remember, nature abhors a vacuum. The likelihood of you eventually getting snails is high.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....

You could also soak the plants in a solution with alum salt.

BUT ask yourself - "why do you want to get rid of snails?"

I personally love the little fellas and go out of my way to have them in every tank I own.

Just look in my tank, an ya see a bunch of brown dots all over the front glass... And the sides... and the plants!

If I get tired of em, I will throw some loaches in, an get em all cleaned up. I figure they have to be eatin somethin, cause they aint eatin the flake food.

But if ya reeeeeaaaaaly dont want em, you could rinse all the plants really well before putting them in the tank.
