Riccia tank possible on DIY CO2?

Hey guys, I'm contemplating replanting my tank and was curious if it would be possible for me to have a riccia tank (almost exclusively all riccia) on just DIY CO2? I had relatively huge success with riccia in the past, yet then I had my tanked CO2 setup. However, it grew extremely quickly. I'd really just hate to have to buy another CO2 tank + Reg, etc. to get set back up.

Also, would it be possible to sustain a riccia tank on Flourish Excel alone for carbon source? (with no CO2)

Check out my sig for the rest of my tank specs

Thx all~

Hmm.... I'm not sure bout the excel, I don't have any experience with it. However, you can set it up with diy co2. I know because thats what I use in my guppy tank with riccia. If you're looking for riccia, I have some for sale in the swap and shop.

My Riccia is one of my fastest growing plants in my 20 gallon, and I am on DIY CO2.

Excel = Not Much Pearling (if any)

DIY CO2 = Pearling

And pearling is what you want with riccia. As long as you have a small enough tank DIY CO2 will work great. If you have much bigger than 20 gallons, that it might not cut it.

Speaking of which where is turtlehead? Also, a gatorade bottle DIY CO2 setup would help tremendously.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....
