Walmart's aquatic plants

Our local walmart has potted aquatic plants for $2.99/ea..

I have gotten an Amazon Sword, Cryptocorne Wendtii, Dwarf Hairgrass...

All the plants look healthy.. I have seen moneywort, and quite an assortment of other plants also. the tags inh the plants are from Florida Aquatic Nursuries..

so when I find these deals and im looking for something like a plant of hairgrass.. is this a good buy?

I bought a couple of those a while ago. The crypt was pretty good. I think the ones I got were grown emersed because the crypt looks wildly different now and the other two died. One was hairgrass. I'm not saying yours will die but I think it needs some time to actually start growing if it is grown emersed.

Yeah, it's a good deal. But I would make sure to wash it REALLY well, especially if they're in tanks that are inline with their fish tanks.

Yeah, just like Petco and Petsmart. Florida Aquatic Nurseries is very common. Most pet shops and super pet shops or chain stores like Walmart buy Florida Aquatic Plants.. The potted plants usually last longer in the store which is the main reason the stores order them potted. It is a good deal if the plants are clean and not covered in algae. That is the biggest problem with the Petsmart in my town, and any I have ever visited. My Walmart doesn't even have a fish dept any more.

Our walmart has very clean tanks, and I never see any algae at all. The fish are sometimes not very healthy, but the tanks are clean and the dead fish are taken out every few hours.
